Paleolithic Mankind

Blog Assignment #1:

This week we learned how Paleolithic Man traveled the world in a Nomadic manner. Strayer explained to us how humans lived in gather/hunter style encampments.

Gather/Hunter?

What does that mean???!

Well, since the majority of nutritional intake within the early man's diet came from the food women gathered- those gathers deserve much more credit! With less than 20% of the diet being fulfilled by hunted game, it's extremely difficult to credit those lousy hunters with the initial recognition of being named first: isn't it?

It's amazing to think that early man was so highly dependent on such a simple task of picking ripe foods from the trees, bushes, and earth. I am glad that Strayer took a stand for those who gathered that helped keep our species stay alive when the obsidian hand knives and crudely naturally sharpened rocks failed to bring home the bacon.
